Walks from The Fox

These great walks start right from our doorstep — from a short woodland stroll to a 4-mile circular taking in a historic viaduct and the Oxford Canal. Dogs very welcome; we even have towels for muddy pups on your return.

Dogs welcome in the pub. We supply towels to wipe down your mucky pups when you return from a walk.

Please note: dogs are not currently permitted in our rooms.

A great circular walk taking you out through open farmland to one of the area’s most impressive landmarks — the historic Souldern railway viaduct — before crossing the swing bridge over the Oxford Canal and looping back through the countryside to the pub. Can be a bit muddy in places, so boots are recommended.

Park up at The Fox, set off on your walk, then come back to a well-earned pint and a hot meal. We're open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday and dinner Wednesday to Saturday.
